To continue with the analysis of the first round:
Baltimore Ravens- With the 17th pick in the draft the Ravens took LB C.J. Mosley (Alabama). The Ravens need help with their linebackers corps and Mosley widely considered one of the best inside linebackers in the draft is a quality pick at 17. Grade: B
New York Jets- The Jets with the 18th pick S Calvin Pryor (Louisville). The Jets desperately need help in the secondary. Whether Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is the best safety in the draft or not is a debate but it can’t be denied that the Jets hit a home run with this pick. Grade: A
Miami Dolphins- With the 19th pick in the draft the Dolphins addressed a major need with OT Ja’wuan James (Tennesse). The Dolphins especially after last years fiasco with their offensive line needed while the top linemen were already gone. This is definitely a value pick for the Dolphins. Grade: A-
New Orleans Saints- With the 20th pick in the first round the Saints took WR Brandin Cooks (Oregon State). The Saints with the loss of Lance Moore were in need of a wide receiver. Cooks should fit well in the New Orleans offense. Grade: A-
Green Bay Packers- With the 21st pick in the draft took arguably the best safety in the draft Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (Alabama). The Packers in need of a safety got the best man possible. Grade: A+
Cleveland Browns- With the 22nd pick of the draft and their second pick of the round, the Browns took QB Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M). The Browns need a quarterback seeing as Hoyer is a question mark for the future. Manziel is probably the best quarterback in the draft. Grade: B+
Kansas City Chiefs- With the 23rd pick in he draft the Chiefs took DE Dee Ford (Auburn). The Chiefs are fairly deep on the defensive line so this is probably a best player available pick. Grade: B-
Cincinnati Bengals- With the 24th pick in the draft the Bengals took CB Darqueze Dennard (Michigan State). The Bengals in need of young blood in an aging secondary took probably the best corner in the draft. Grade: A+
San Diego Chargers- With the 25th pick in the draft the Chargers took CB Jason Verrett (T.C.U.). The Chargers in need of some help in the secondary took the best corner still on the board. Grade: B
Philadelphia Eagles- With the 26th pick in the draft the Eagles took DE Marcus Smith (Louisville). Pass rushers are always in demand, and Smith should help the Eagles immediately. Grade: A-
Arizona Cardinals- With the 27th pick the Cardinals took S Deone Bucannon (Washington State). The Cardinals got a steal in Bucannon who is reputed to be the best man to man safety in the draft. Grade: A
Carolina Panthers- With the 28th pick in the draft the Panthers took WR Kelvin Benjamin (Florida State). Benjamin’s size will make him a threat in red zone. Benjamin doesn’t quite cover the losses the Panthers suffered in free agency. Grade:C
New England Patriots- The Patriots with the 29th pick in the draft took DT Dominique Easley (Florida). The Patriots need help in the middle and Easley should have an immediate impact. Grade: B+
San Fransisco 49ers- The 49ers with the 30th pick took S Jimmie Ward (Northern Illinois). The 49ers need a man to groom to take over for the aging Antoine Bethea. Ward should be a good replacement. Grade: B
Denver Broncos- The Broncos with the 30th pick took CB Bradley Roby (Ohio State). The Broncos need a lot of help at the cornerback position after the departure of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Roby should step in besides Talib immediately. Grade: A+
Minnesota Vikings- With the final pick in the first round the Vikings took QB Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville). The Vikings clearly need a quarterback Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel are not the answer. Grade: A-
